           In the end of the book, Lorenzo change from a close boy into a open boy. This change is because of his sister Olivia. Olivia is a bad girl, she smoke, she took drug, she hate her father, everything suit her as a traitorous girl. She is similar with Lorenzo at some point, for example, she and Lorenzo is both a good actor, they are both every lonely. During the day's they spend in the basement, Olivia showed very sick, she vomited, she trembled, she even couldn't got up from the floor when she fall down. From the letter, Lorenzo knew that Olivia seemed been abandoned by father, it force her to live by herself. Lorenzo found a person who had same situation, they became closer as they stay for a longer time in the basement, when Lorenzo saw Olivia was painful, he tried to help her, he tried to get some medicines for her. This movement shows Lorenzo starts changing himself. After he helped Olivia, he felt he did something was meaningful to him. The ice wall that block him and others people had been melted as the time passed though.

          The ending was Olivia died after ten years, when I read this it actually shock me. I know something would happen in the end to connect with the preface. At first, I think Lorenzo may meet with his sister after 10 years, they may have lot of things to talk. They may celebrate they meet again, because Lorenzo had promised to Olivia that he would meet her again in the later years. I never imagine Olivia would died so fast, this makes me think that maybe Olivia still had bad life after she left the basement. But later, I come out from the shocking, the author did a great job on controlling reader emotion, the ending make this story different, if there is a happy ending this would be a normal story, but this ending make this story special. I think this is why we are reading this book. World is not always good, and beautiful, you should face to what they world is like. 

      Two people in a same situation will help each other, so I actually expect that Olivia would change and Olivia should be important to Lorenzo or she won't mention in the front of the story. In the basement, there are only Lorenzo and Olivia, they both need some help from each other, Olivia needed a place to stay, Lorenzo needed some one to pretend as Alessia's mother. So they should get closer in the basement. When the story began, the first character Lorenzo mentions is Olivia, so she should be a very important person to Lorenzo. When I reading the preface, Lorenzo was mature, although he didn't talk a lot with waitress, but it shows he grow up. Olivia is the link between old Lorenzo and new Lorenzo, she help him to change. After reading this story, I learn that in our life, we will have some change, we will grow up one day. We won't stay the same. Some people in your life would change you in some way, cherish them, maybe one day they will leave without warming.

          Olivia is Lorenzo's stepsister, she appears in the very front of the first chapter, then she had been disappear for a while in the book. In chapter 5, she shows up again. Lorenzo describes she is really beautiful, and has hot body. She is 9 years older than Lorenzo, Lorenzo doesn't have a lot of memory about Olivia, but the second day he stays in the basement, Olivia called him and found him he was in the basement. At the night of that day, Olivia went to the basement and asked Lorenzo to let her to stay in the basement for a night, but Lorenzo didn't agree with that, that is his own space, and the space is only able to let one person to live in, and the food is also limited, so Lorenzo does not want Olivia to stay with him, but Olivia suddenly shouts outside of the house 'Listen up, everyone! Can you hear me? A boy is hiding in the cellar. It’s Lorenzo Cuni, who’s pretending to be away on ski week . . . Hello . . .', Lorenzo was afraid of her, and scares that somebody will finds out that he stays in the basement. So he let Olivia in, and let her to live in the basement for one day. Olivia looks different than before, she seem lose her beauty. 

         In the third day, Olivia said that she is not going to leave, she will stay here, but Lorenzo didn't agree again and argue with her, during their argue, Lorenzo mother called Lorenzo again, she said that Alessia must talked to her this time, Lorenzo had no chose, he bets Olivia to help him, he wanted Olivia to act as Alessia mother, Olivia didn't want to do that unless Lorenzo can be her "slave", and let her to continue stay in the basement. Lorenzo didn't have a chose so he agree with her. Lorenzo was safe from her mother phone called, but after a while, Olivia shows that her body is not in a good situation, she throws up in the bathroom. When Olivia woke up in the morning, Lorenzo describes as"She looked liked she’d been chewed up and spat out by a monster who had found her too bitter to eat.", is show maybe she had been a long day yesterday and didn't rest for a long time. The last day, Lorenzo found out that Olivia hates father a lot, father seems abandon her, she didn't get a lot of care from father. The only thing father did for her is he will sends money to Olivia when she needs some. She lives by herself, she did everything in her life by herself. Lorenzo started felt sorry for Olivia, Olivia seems in a poor situation. She has no place to live, her body is in an unhealthy situation, she becomes live dirty, wears dirty boots, becomes different with the Olivia in Lorenzo's memory. So Lorenzo starts felt sorry for her. Maybe he will think he needs to let her stays here, and helps her. 

Me and you Chapter 1

           On 18th, February 2000, Lorenzo woke up early in the morning and his mother brought him to the ski class. He didn't like the skiing class, he went back home by himself and stayed in the basement and enjoied his "ski week".

Winter break

      

       In this winter break, one of the exciting things I did is I went to a city in China called Wuhan to visit my old friend. I know him last year in our school, but now he is studying in another school. I had long time for not meeting him, I missed him so I decided to go to his city to find him. On this trip, I go with Kevin and we had a lot of fun in Wuhan.

       On 28th, January, I woke up early to take the train to Wuhan, my train is at 9:15am, I left my home at 8am, I thought I had plants of time to go to the train station, but on the way to the train station, there was a traffic jam, because everyone in the city were on the way to there work, I waste a lot of time on the way to the train station, most in the time, I was stuck on the road, because my car couldn't move. When I arrived the train station is was already 9am, I needed to get my ticket and  got into the train in 15 minutes, when I ran into the train station, I met another problem , there were a lot of people waiting on the line to get the train tickets, I must wait on the line. Fortunately, there was a line for the people who have the train in next coming 30 minutes, so those people can get the ticket faster. I did everything in hurry, when I got into the train and sit on the seat, the train just start moving. I was tired in the morning for woke up early and did so many things in hurry, so I slept in the train, but when I slept I was also in a nervous condition, because I afraid I will slept over the Wuhan station. After four hours on the train, I arrived Wuhan. Wuhan is a beautiful city, the two days I spend in Wuhan there was haze in the city, the weather was not that good. But this could not change my happy feeling in Wuhan, I ate a lot of tradition foods in Wuhan, I still missed the taste of the foods in there. I didn't do a lot of sightseeing in Wuhan, because the reason I went there was to find my friend. We talked a lot, and most of the thing we did there was talking. We had so many things to talk about, and we missed each other very much. 

         Because the time I went to Wuhan was near new year, so I didn't spend a lot of time to stay in there, I need to go back to my city. Although the time I spend in Wuhan was short, but it was one of the most exciting and happy time in my winter break.
